BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Kern County Department of Child Support Services will be celebrating Child Support Awareness Month in August by giving out free backpacks filled with school supplies.
The Ready-Set Back 2 School Health & Wellness Fair will be Thursday, August 9 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Kern County Fairgrounds. Admission is free.
There will be more than 4000 backpacks with school supplies to give out to children. There will also be more than 75 organizations present with booths to share information and activities.
Sponsors include Kern Schools Federal Credit Union, 23ABC, the Kern County Fair and the Kern County Bar Association Charitable Foundation.
