BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield and Arvin cooling centers will be open today as temperatures continue to rise.
The cooling centers, which are operated by the Kern County Parks Division in cooperation with the Department of Aging and Adult Services, are opened when temperatures are forecast to exceed certain highs.
The open Bakersfield cooling center locations are:
- East Bakersfield Veterans Building (2101 Ridge Road)
- East Niles Senior Center (6601 East Niles Street)
- The Mission at Kern County (816 East 21st Street)
The open Arvin cooling center location is:
- Arvin Community Center (800 Walnut Drive)
The cooling centers are open from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
