On Wednesday, December 14, Bike Bakersfield will be hosting their annual Holiday Lights Ride.
The ride has been known to attract 100-200 riders and will showcase the decorated homes in the Haggin Oaks neighborhood.
For Bike Bakersfield, it's our way to engage residents and bring the different facets of the bike community together. The ride will be a leisurely 10 mph pace and welcomes riders of all ages and skill levels. The ride begins and ends at The Marketplace at 7 p.m. and ends at the Marketplace.
Bike Bakersfield staff will follow the ride with tools and flat tire repair equipment in the event of a mechanical problem during the ride. Lights and helmets are strongly encouraged and required by law for riders under the age of 18.
The ride will stop for hot drinks and snacks at Dustin's Diner so make sure to have some cash.
All proceeds benefit the Bakersfield Homeless Shelter.
