A local alarm company held a special drive-thru luncheon to honor local first responders for their sacrifices while also honoring the September 11th terror attacks.

SSD Alarm held its 18th annual hero appreciation lunch at their offices on Fruitvale Avenue. There was some limited seating available but it was mostly drive-thru.

The barbecue meal was catered by Salty's Barbecue.

One of the managers for SSD Alarms saying the event is just something to help show local first responders how much they care.

"Tor first responders, basically our main goal is to just give back. 365 days a year, they go out, to keep us safe. So on Sept. 11th to honor that fateful day to show that we honor them and appreciate what they do for us," said Carl Salyards, sales manager SSD Alarms.

In addition to the event, the team from SSD Alarms also visited various stations throughout the county to drop off pre-packed meals for first responder employees who couldn't make it out to the lunch.
