Nearly a month ago, Bakersfield California Highway Patrol dispatcher Jenny Goretski took a call from someone who said they received a "Snapchat" from a friend who was going to attempt suicide.
According to the CHP, Goretski then started going to work, asking questions to try to figure out what was going on to try to get help for the person who was considering taking their own life.
Goretski was able to track down where the person was.
Eventually, members of the Bakersfield Police Department located where the person lived and was able to get proper care for the juvenile.
It was Goretski's work that helped earn her the Bakersfield Communications Center's Dispatcher of the Month for April.
