The Bakersfield City Council approved new restrictions on hookah lounges Wednesday night.
There will not be a strict 2 a.m. closure put on hookah lounges, but Bakersfield police will have the ability to put a closing time on lounges applying for a permit.
Times can vary based on prior problems the establishment may have had.
The new regulations will take effect in 30 days from last night’s meeting.
