The Bakersfield City Council has voted to approve opening several city spray parks this weekend.
Seven of the city's nine spray parks will be open beginning Friday, June 10, for four hours everyday from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Two of the spray parks, Wayside and Planz, are closed due to repair. The parks expected to be operating this weekend include: Beale; Greystone; Jastro; Jefferson; MLK; Saunders; and Siemon.
The spray parks have been closed for the past two years due to the ongoing California drought, but city officials considered reopening them after state officials eased up on water regulations.
