BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield City School District has named the next Board of Trustee for Area 4. Officials announced Thursday night Laura Guerrero-Salgado has been selected as the new trustee.
Guerrero-Salgado replaces Russ Shuppert who resigned from the board in December.
Candidates included Johnny Aldana, Laura Guerrero-Salgado and Miguel Juarez.
Tonight at a special meeting held by the Bakersfield City School District Board of Education, interviews with the candidates were held and then the board voted for their preferred candidate.
Three board members had to agree on the preferred candidate before it was confirmed.
