In the aftermath of the recent mass shootings around the country, Bakersfield College held an active shooter training on campus to help educate everyone about what to do.
"Everyone needs a little bit of training, and you need to be aware of situations. You need to know what's going on and you have to have a plan," said Pastor Bernard Johnson.
The event was open to the Renegade community and the general public.
One BD director said the information presented in the session has the ability to save lives and bring awareness to these unfortunate incidents.
The Bakersfield College of Public Safety will hold more training sessions throughout this month and the month of October. The next training is set for this upcoming Wednesday.
