Bakersfield College part-time music instructor arrested on sex charges

Bakersfield police have arrested a part-time music instructor from Bakersfield College on sex charges.

On Thursday, Bakersfield Police Department detectives conducted a sexual assault investigation involving a male adult and female minor.

As a result, detectives arrested Andrew Hubbard, 27, of Bakersfield, on charges of unlawful sexual intercourse with a person under 18, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and furnishing marijuana to a minor.

At the time of his arrest, Hubbard was employed as a part-time professional expert with Bakersfield College, assigned to instruct for a Bakersfield College music program referred to as the Golden Empire Drum and Bugle Core. Hubbard has held this position since December of 2010 and came to know the victim during this time frame.
