Bakersfield College takes part in 'Week of Action'

Bakersfield College is taking part in the "Week of Action" by raising awareness regarding undocumented students. 

During the week of October 15, the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office is encouraging students and colleges across the state to engage in a week of advocacy and activities to support and build awareness of undocumented students throughout the state.

Events throughout the week include:

  • Tuesday, October 16 – Latinas Unidas hosting “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” where fellow students can sign postcards to congress
  • Wednesday, October 17 - MEChA will host a Voter Registration table
  • Wednesday, October 17 at 8 A.M. and 1 P.M. - Financial Aid Workshops offering information on the DREAM Act and scholarship opportunities in CSS 151
  • Thursday, October 18 at 12:00 P.M. – Legal Clinic and Immigration Resource Fair in the Fireside Room
  • Thursday, October 18 at 1 P.M. - Know your Rights Workshop in the Collins Conference Center
  • Thursday, October 18 at 6 P.M. – Truth Act Form Workshop in the Collins Conference Center
  • Friday, October 19 at 4:30 P.M. – Advocate with Art, Sugar Skulls Workshop in CSS 151
