BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield College was recently recognized with the state Chancellors 2018 Student Success Award for developing and producing various student success initiatives to improve outcomes and support the states vision for success.

In support of student support efforts, the college has received the Catalyst Grant enabling BC to increase outreach strategies, student support resources and more student leadership opportunities for dreamers.

“We are committed to ensuring that BC students, regardless of background or status, experience our supportive environment and access our robust resources in order to imagine and complete their educational goals," Director of Student Success and Equity, Lesley Bonds said. "This grant will augment student and faculty leadership capacity, encourage involvement in the Completion Coaching Communities, and provide student-centered educational resources that will allow students to focus on what matters the most.”

Bakersfield College is one of 32 campuses throughout the state of California that have received $115,000 from the California Campus Catalyst Fund.
