Bakersfield College will be welcoming Olympic Medalist and former member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Jim Ryun on Thursday, May 17th.

There will be a meet and greet at the Sheraton Ballroom from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 

There will be a $20 fee at the door. photo opportunities will be available. 

Jim Ryun set the world record set for the outdoor mile, with a time of 3:51.1 at Bakersfield College's Memorial Stadium at the 1967 Track and Field Championships. 

Ryun will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the world record he set at the stadium.
