There are three blades to choose from to fence and a local Bakersfield group is interested in teaching you any of them.

The Kern Athletic Fencing Foundation hosted an open house Saturday to recruit more members to their foundation. The head coach of the club said they have four different skill levels and three different blades to choose from. Also, their members range from 8 years old to 75 years old.

During Saturday's open house, prospective members learned the basics of fencing. The sport originates from Medieval Times and is one of the five original sports in the modern Olympics still played.
