The Bakersfield Fire Department battled a structure fire on Cottonwood Road in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The vacant single-story commercial building, located at 3411 Cottonwood Road had flames showing through the roof when BFD responded to the call around 3:46 a.m.

No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
