The Bakersfield Fire Department has confirmed that the fire at St. Francis Parish School Monday morning was arson.

The fire occurred Monday morning around 3 a.m. and forced the school to close for the day. According to BFD, the fire started outside of the school near the cafeteria and made its way inside. 

BFD does not have any suspects at this time. Students were able to return to school today. This is still an active investigation.
