Bakersfield Fire crews put out a two-story apartment fire in southwest Bakersfield Wednesday afternoon.
The fire started around 3:30 p.m. in an apartment near North Half Moon Drive and Ashe Road, BFD said.
As the flames threatened the unit above, BFD evacuated nearby units and contained the fire, according to BFD.
BFD arson investigators determined the fire was accidental and damage is estimated to be $70,000.
Nobody was injured.
