BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A person was struck by a train in south Bakersfield Friday night.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, a person was hit by a train in the area of South H. Street and Planz Road behind Planz park.

Initial reports were that the person had moderate to major injuries.

According to our 23ABC photographer who was on scene, officials seemed to be trying to extricate the person from under the train.

South H Street remained blocked by the train as of 11:15 p.m.
