The Bakersfield Fire Department has deployed two overhead resources to help fight the South Fork Fire, which is just 18 miles East of Mariposa, California.
One ordering manager and one medical unit leader from Bakersfield Fire will also join the 140 firefighters already fighting the blaze.
The South Fork Fire is burning near the South Fork of Merced River.
The primary objective is fire containment due to how close the community of Wawona is.
