Friday morning the Bakersfield Fire Department held its annual 9/11 memorial ceremony.

Every year, the event is held at Station 15. The station holds a piece of history from that day in New York, a beam from one of the Twin Towers that was gifted to the Bakersfield Fire Department from the New York Fire Department.

Because of COVID-19, the fire department did not hold an in-person ceremony this year, instead, it was streamed live.
