The Bakersfield Fire Department and PG&E are partnering in an effort to prevent holiday hazards by conducting a live-fire Christmas tree safety demonstration to show how a dry and improperly maintained tree can easily catch fire. 

BFD and PG&E will be having this demonstration on Tuesday, Dec. 19th at 10 a.m. at the Fire Training Facility located at 5642 Victor St. Bakersfield, CA 93308.  The goal of the demonstration is to bring awareness to Christmas trees catching fires and overall to reduce the number of house fires during the holiday season by encouraging proper tree maintenance. 

PG&E and BFD will also be providing tips on how to avoid overloading electrical circuits as well as remind the public to keep working smoke detectors.
