BAKERSFIELD, CA. — The Bakersfield Fire Department held their annual 9/11 ceremony at Station 15 this morning.

At the station, there is a unique piece of history that was brought from New York by BFD firefighters.

"It's a reminder that men and women paid the ultimate sacrifice on that day," Jason Queen, BFD Station 15.

The piece is a beam that survived the attack on the second World Trade Tower.

"It's absolutely one of the most proud moments I've had is to see that monument brought into Bakersfield," Chief Anthony Galagaza. "Knowing we would have a piece of that day to always remember."
