BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Fire Department announced it responded to 6,669 calls for service from July 3 to July 5.

BFD responded to 88 fires during this time and received just under 1,000 calls for illegal fireworks, 796 of which were handled by the BFD Operations Center via email, City website, and City App. There have been 71 illegal fireworks citations tallied to date, with more to be collected from our enforcement team.
