SAN MATEO, Calif. — A Bakersfield girl took home the grand prize in an international coding and robotics competition.
Team Cadenza won the $5,000 grand prize for the 12 to 14 age group in the 2018-2019 Wonder League Robotics Competition.
Team Cadenza beat out more than 7,800 teams from around the world. More than 35,000 students, ranging in ages from 6 to 14, participated in the international competition. The competition aims to utilize coding and robotics skills to solve social impact challenges.
Cadenza will receive a $5,000 STEM grant from Wonder Workshop, plus a robot of her choice.
