Bakersfield Heart Hospital earned an award for meeting specific criteria and standards of performance for the quick and appropriate treatment of ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI), which is the deadliest type of heart attack caused by a blockage of blood flow to the heart that requires timely treatment.
"We are pleased to be recognized for our dedication and achievements in cardiac car, and I am very proud of our team," said Michelle Oxford, the Chief Executive Officer of Bakersfield Heart Hospital.
The formal presentation of the award will be held today, Thursday September 21, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Bakersfield Heart Hospital lobby.
