BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield Innovation Lab, a program by The Hub of Bakersfield, is accepting applications for its second class with the goal of making the greater downtown Bakersfield area a more desirable place to live, work and be.
“We know there are people throughout Bakersfield who love this city and want to see our downtown area grow and prosper,” said Kaitlyn Yates, chairwoman for the program. “We invite anyone interested in being a part of the exciting growth in our city to apply, and join others who are as passionate as they are.”
For 2020, participants in the 4-month program will meet and interview city stakeholders and active innovators, and work together in a team environment to develop a list of successful projects and ideas, and execute them.
Participants will also visit places that are “doing it right” or “doing it better.”
The cost of the program is $500. The commitment for participants includes meeting two times per month for 4 months, and see program projects from beginning to end.
Applications are due Aug. 31, with interviews scheduled shortly after. Innovators selected will begin the program in mid-September and finish in December.
