BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police K-9 Trials are back this year. Law enforcement agencies from as far as Mexico will be represented at this year's competition. The K-9 teams will show off their tactics and technique in man work, searches, agility obstacle courses, and obedience.
The competition will be Saturday July 20 at Rabobank Arena. Doors open at 8 a.m. and the competition will continue until 5 p.m.
Bakersfield Police is suggesting a $2 donation upon admission.
Several vendors will be on hand offering the latest in K-9 related equipment.
Following Saturday’s competition, the Bakersfield Police Department K-9 Unit will be hosting an awards banquet at the Bakersfield Convention Center. BPD says during the banquet, there will also be a raffle with surprise gifts for anyone in attendance.
A portion of the proceeds will go towards the Armed Forces Support Foundation.
