Oil jobs in Bakersfield are down almost 20% from last year, according to new stats released by the California Employment Development Department.

Bakersfield lost 2,000 oil-related jobs since last October, a change of more than 19%.

But other industries are making up for those losses.

Our labor force actually grew by 1% since this time last year. The biggest gains were in real estate and city government jobs.
