The Bakersfield Police Department has arrested Santiago Cardenas, 44, of Bakersfield for assault with a deadly weapon and attempted homicide. 

Officials said just before 7:30 p.m. Friday night officers responded to Wilson Park in south Bakerfield for reports of a stabbing. 

When officers arrived they found an adult male suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries. 

Cardenes was found at a residence in near south H. St. and Planz Rd. and was taken into custody. 

He is currently being held on $525,000 bail.
