A Bakersfield man has been arrested on a federal warrant accused of transporting more than 100 lbs of drugs.

Fernando Velasquez is accused of using truck drivers to transport more than 100 pounds of meth to Oklahoma on a weekly basis. KCSO and Oklahoma DEA TaskForce worked together to investigate Velasquez.

On September 17, Oklahoma DEA received a federal arrest warrant for Velasquez. KCSO deputies performed a traffic stop on him and arrested him. He had about $2,000 in his wallet at the time of his arrest. After he was arrested, deputies searched a residence he frequented in East Bakersfield and found over $14,000 in cash.
