A previously convicted felon from Bakersfield has been charged with the illegal possession of a firearm.

34-year-old Luvell Ronell Blinks attempted to flee police on Sept. 25 when they tried to pull him over. Blinks led them on a high speed pursuit followed by a foot chase. When he was apprehended he had a loaded .357 caliber Smith and Wesson Revolver.

If convicted he may receive a up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
