A Bakersfield man was involved in a fatal crash on northbound I-5 near the Tejon Outlets yesterday.
The crash happened on November 22 around 6 p.m. According to CHP, a 51-year-old man from Antioch was driving a gray 2010 Lexus HS250 h northbound on I-5 north of Grapevine Road. The Lexus failed to stop before rear-ending the the trailer of a 2014 three axle Peterbilt semi-truck. As a result, the driver of the Lexus suffered fatal injuries.
The driver of the semi-truck was a 50-year-old man from Bakersfield. He was not injured in the crash.
The crash is under investigation. According to CHP, in the initial investigation, it appears that alcohol and/or drugs are not a factor in the crash.
