CHP officials say a Bakersfield man was killed in a collision that took place in Visalia on Tuesday night.
According to the CHP, at around 9:19 p.m., they received a call of a pedestrian down in the roadway on SR-99 north of Ave. 264.
Officials added that the 24-year-old was riding a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle northbound on SR-99.
It is not known at this time, but officials believe the rider and the motorcycle collided intro the rear of unknown vehicle, possibly a semi-truck.
Officials said the man was ejected from the motorcycle into the # 2 lane, where he was struck by another vehicle.
The man was transported to Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia where he died from his injuries.
According to witnesses, the man was traveling at a very high rate of speed and recklessly prior to the crash.
The man's name has been withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Tulare County Coroner.
