Bakersfield man offers at cost body armor for police officers across the country

Joshua Wyrick made a decision to sell his body armor at cost when he noticed the immediate need that officers had to buy at an affordable cost.

"I decided to offer this body armor at cost so that we could help as many officers get covered as possible, knowing that they were going to be buying it on their own."

Many police departments in the United States do offer bullet proof vests for their officers. According to Wyrick however, they are not resistant enough to protect them for heavy artillery weapons.

This has led "thousands" of law enforcement officers to look for other options that can keep them safe. Wyrick also says that there is a great fear in the police community because of the threat that they are facing.

Wyrick has received calls from officers in Chicago, New York, Texas, and Louisiana. So many calls, that he has a back order of 3 months.

He says that he has received nothing but support from the community in Bakersfield and Kern County. He hopes to be able to continue to be an affordable option for police officers across the country who are seeking to buy more resistant body armor.

Wyrick says that one of the main reasons for officers not having more resistant body armor is due to the lack of funds in police departments.
