Bakersfield Mayor Karen Goh has sent out a message to the community just before the Thanksgiving holiday. Mayor Goh says it's important to be mindful of each other's safety and above all to have a fun holiday weekend.

"I'm grateful to be part of the Bakersfield family that expresses our kindness and generosity like no other. This year as we face the challenges of the pandemic we have a special opportunity to show our caring for each other. Let's care for the health of our family friends and community by following the guidelines of health professionals. We can reverse the tide and get our businesses schools and churches open," said Goh in her message.

She continued to say that Bakersfield prides itself on giving back to the community and that we should celebrate that by keeping each other healthy and safe.
