After the shooting tragedies in Baton Rouge, Dallas and St. Paul, the Bakersfield branch of the NAACP hosted a prayer rally at the Liberty Bell in downtown Bakersfield. The event aimed to put their words in action and explained that "anti-police brutality is not anti-police", as shared on the group's Facebook page.

 

Presenters shared spoken word poems during the rally as well as prayers from local pastors for the state of the nation. "Violence leads to violence and multiplies violence," said Pastor Oscar Anthony. He then called the community to continue to act in peace and practice reconciliation.
