BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield has become one of the most popular areas for millennials, according to the National Association of Realtors.
In a new study, the association ranked Bakersfield as one of the top 10 places for millennials. The association says 28% of Bakersfield residents are millennials, and 67% of people moving to Bakersfield are millennials.
Millennials moving to Bakersfield have an average income of $37,000. According to the National Association of Realtors, millennials who recently moved to Bakersfield can afford to purchase almost 15% of homes currently listed for sale compared to 4% in Los Angeles.
