BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — His journey on one of America's top stages sparked excitement throughout Kern County, but on Sunday, Bakersfield native Dillon James' bid in American Idol came to an end.

In the season finale, James made it to the top 5 after the first round of voting. He performed Bob Dylan's "The Time They Are A-Changin'" in the second round, before being eliminated via voting.
