A Bakersfield native and former Liberty High School graduate, Tabitha Coen, is making her mark in the film industry.
Coen's latest project where she served as a producer is making waves at film festivals and is now heading to Cannes to compete in the short film category.
The film she produced, "Waiting Game," first was conceived for the 48 Hour Film Project competition where her team from Portland, Oregon won several awards. The movie is set in the 1980s in a diner where a brother and sister face questions about their future.
Cannes organizers announced this week that the event will now be virtual due to COVID-19. A date for the new virtual festival has not yet been finalized.
