The Bakersfield Police Department Traffic Section conducted a DUI / Driver’s License Checkpoint on Friday, November 4, 2016, on Union Avenue, just south of 3rd Street.
The checkpoint occurred between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m.
1,187 vehicles were screened by officers, and seven drivers were detained to be further evaluated to determine their sobriety influence level.
The Bakersfield Police Department Traffic Section made five arrests of drivers for driving under the influence. 66 drivers were cited for no driver’s license or driving on a suspended license.
