ORIGINAL STORY: The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating a crash that happened Wednesday night in southwest Bakersfield that left a man and woman dead.

Officials said around 8:00 p.m. Wednesday they responded to the area of Wilson Rd. near S. Real Rd. for a report of a vehicle versus a motorcycle crash.

When officers arrived they found an adult woman and adult man in the road with major injuries. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers said their preliminary investigation revealed the man and woman were on the motorcycle traveling eastbound on Wilson Rd. when a woman driving a sedan westbound on Wilson Rd. failed to yield the right of way to the motorcyclist.

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with investigators and officials said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
