BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department's Community Relations Unit is checking children car seats for free today. The event is hosted as a part of car seat check Saturday.
Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be on hand at the event to check for correct installation of the car seat, defects and any current recalls.
For those interested in having their child's car seat checked must bring it with them to the parking lot of Walmart.
The event starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m.
The Walmart is located at 6225 Colony Street in South Bakersfield.
