The Bakersfield Police Department held a DUI and Driver's License Checkpoint on Panama Lane near Ashe Road.
The checkpoint was in place from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Officers screened 1,316 vehicles. Eight drivers were detained to further evaluate their sobriety level.
BPD arrested four people for driving under the influence and 24 drivers were cited for driving without a license or driving on a suspended license.
