The Bakersfield Police Department wants to make sure everyone is safe this Black Friday. So they posted holiday crime prevention tips.

Those tips include locking you're doors and windows and don't openly display your tree and gifts.

• Don't advertise that you are away from home.
• Stay alert to your surroundings, shop before it gets dark, and the like.
• And avoid carrying large amounts of cash - being careful with wallets and purses.
• Also, Santa doesn't drink and sled, so don't drink and drive.
