Bakersfield Police said a fetus was found at Mill Creek Park in Central Bakersfield Monday afternoon.
The call came out around 2 p.m. for reports of a fetus floating in the canal.
Officers were able to pull the fetus out but they didn't survive.
The Coroner will release the identification once available.
