Bakersfield Police holding a DUI and driver's license checkpoint Tuesday evening

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Police Department is holding a DUI and driver's license checkpoint tomorrow.

Officials announced there will be a checkpoint Tuesday June 12, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m.

It will be held somewhere within the Bakersfield city limits.

Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment and officers will be checking drivers for proper licensing.

BPD said DUI checkpoints are placed in locations based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests affording the greatest opportunity for achieving drunk and drugged driving deterrence.
