The Bakersfield Police Department will hold sessions for trainees looking to head to the police academy beginning Friday morning. 

The informational sessions for those looking to get into the BPD start at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Weill Institute's Room 124 at 2100 Chester Avenue. There will be another session at the same site at 6 p.m.

The sessions will go over information for an academy set to start in February. 

There will also be sessions at the BPD's Westside Substation at 1301 Buena Vista Road at noon and again at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, there will be sessions at Bakersfield College's Forum Room #101 at 1801 Panorama Drive at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
