Bakersfield Police holds a DUI and driver's license checkpoint in central Bakersfield

The Bakersfield Police Department held a DUI and driver's license checkpoint in central Bakersfield on Saturday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.

1,012 vehicles were screened by officers on 23rd Street near F Street. Four drivers were detained for further evaluation to determine their sobriety level.

One person was arrested for driving under the influence. 22 others were cited for driving with a suspended license or driving without a license.
