Bakersfield Police investiagting after man was dropped off at hospital with stab wounds, later died

UPDATE (March 13, 2017 3:58 p.m.): The victim of Saturday's stabbing was 23-year-old Miguel Garcia. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

UPDATE (March 12, 5:00 a.m.): According to the Bakersfield Police Department's Lt. Gary Carruesco, through their investigation it was determined the stabbing happened near Dayton Ave. and Elmhurst St. in South Bakersfield. 

Officials are still asking for anyone with information about the case to contact Detective J. Jones at 326-3555 or the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.

Bakersfield Police Officers responded to Adventist Hospital regarding an adult male suffering from moderate to major injuries. 

The investigation revealed the victim was dropped off at the hospital by an unidentified Hispanic adult male in his 40's, 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build in a 2015 Grey Nissan, possibly dark grey, with a California License plate 7LKA383.

The victim died from his injuries. His identity is being withheld pending notification from the Kern County Coroner's Office. 

The location of the offense is unknown. The person who dropped off the victim and the vehicle are still outstanding.
