Bakersfield Police say the Wells Fargo bank on California Avenue was robbed just before noon on Saturday. 

Police say the man entered the bank on 5401 California Avenue and handed the bank teller a note and demanded currency. The bank teller complied with the suspect's demands. Officers aren't sure how much the suspect took off with. 

BPD has identified the suspect as 59-year-old Lawrence Alvin Cherry. He's described as 6'01" tall and weighing 220 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes.

No one was injured during the robbery. 

A warrant has been obtained for Cherry's arrest for robbery. The investigation is ongoing.
